Honed Slate

Italian Black Honed Slate, with a matte, smooth finish. Loved for its simplicity and consistent finish, Honed slate is the perfect compliment to the most modern or traditional of fireplace or stove installations. 

Un oiled (although susceptible to tiny marks and scratches) is more of a dry charcoal grey colour which will show the stone in its rawest beauty

Oiling is a good idea if you are particular about tiny marks and scratches. Its straightforward home maintenance recommended probably twice a year. Oiling will feed the slate making it more darker and consistent in appearance.
